Wills

Plan for your future and the future of your family by making a Will.
The reasons you should make a Will:-

1. A Will will prevent any family disagreements or uncertainty about your wishes and intentions.

2. It will set out clearly who should receive monies from your estate. If you do not make a Will statutory provisions will apply. This may result in monies passing to persons who you do not wish to give monies to.

3. Ensure that you make provision for your children. If your children are minors, who will care for them?

4. Make sure that your estate and financial affairs are tax efficient by seeking to reduce Inheritance tax liability.

Probate and the Administration of a Deceased’s Estate

Trying to cope with the loss of a family member or a close friend?

It is a difficult time for anybody without the added pressure of sorting out their property and financial affairs.
We can assist you in this difficult time whether you have been appointed as the Executor/Trustee of a Will or in the event that you cannot find a Will or if the deceased did not leave a Will.
We can attend to all matters including applying for the Grant of Probate or Letters of Administration, drawing Inland Revenue account to include calculating whether there is any Inheritance Tax payable, discharging debts, collecting and distributing funds.

Lasting Powers of Attorneys and other Court of Protection Applications

Alzheimers disease and/or dementia affects in the region of 465,000 people in the UK.

Are you concerned about your future? What will happen if you unable to make decisions or if you are unable to cope and manage your property and financial affairs? What will happen if you cannot make decisions about what medical treatment you should receive? What if you are unable to care for yourself and you need assistance from third parties? What care and treatment should you receive?

By creating a Lasting Power of Attorney you can set out your wishes and intentions for your future. The lasting Power of Attorney will enable you to nominate a person or persons to act on your behalf and to make decisions for you in accordance with any guidance you wish to give to them. Your attorney(s) will be able to assist you in making decisions and/or managing your finances if you are either temporarily or permanently unable to do so.

Appointing an attorney can be far more cost effective than leaving your family and loved ones to try to deal with matters in the event that you are no longer able to make clear and rational decisions for yourself. We offer competitive fees for the preparation and registration of a Lasting Power of Attorney.

Deputyship Orders

Has a member of your family been in an accident which means that they are unable to make decisions for themselves?

Is your mother or father suffering from dementia or altzheimers?

Did that person create a Lasting Power of Attorney or Enduring Power of Attorney? If the answer is no, then you need to clear advice on the steps that you can take to manage and to access their finances and/or make decisions about the care and treatment which they should receive.
